Home Loans for FIFO and Mining Workers

A Perth broker who compares lenders that count FIFO income well, and works around your roster.
FIFO and mining

Your pay is real. Let's make it easy to see.

Working fly-in fly-out or in the mines can mean good money, but it does not always look tidy on paper. Pay changes with your roster. Allowances, overtime and bonuses can make up a big part of it, and lenders do not all count them the same way.

Richard listens first. He wants to hear how your roster works, what is base pay and what is not, and what you want from your loan. Then he compares lenders who count FIFO income well, so you are not stuck with the first answer you get.

Get in touch and we'll call you back within one business day to find a time that suits.

The short version

  • Lenders count base pay in full. Overtime, loadings, allowances and bonuses are where they differ.
  • The same pay can give a different borrowing amount at different lenders, so comparing matters.
  • Clear evidence helps: payslips with year-to-date totals, a payment summary and, if asked, a letter from your employer about your roster.
  • First home buyers may be eligible for the Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme. There is no income cap, and price caps apply.
  • Richard doesn't charge you a fee. He's paid by the lender.

How lenders see your pay

Four parts of your pay, treated four ways

Lenders count base pay in full. Overtime, loadings, allowances and bonuses are where they differ, and the same pay can give a different borrowing amount at different lenders.

Lender policies change over time, so Richard checks the current rules for you.

Base salary

Counted in full by lenders.

Regular overtime and shift loadings

Often counted at a lower share at more cautious lenders. Some count more when it is regular and documented.

Site and remote area allowances

Some lenders leave them out. Others count them when they are ongoing and you can show the evidence.

Bonuses

Often averaged over two years and reduced.

Questions we hear

Straight answers to what FIFO and mining workers ask us most.

Will a lender count my allowances and overtime?

It depends on the lender. Base pay is counted in full. Some lenders count regular overtime and loadings at a lower share, and some leave out allowances. Others count more when you can show it is regular. Richard compares lenders so you can see who counts what.
